Białe światła obrysowujące / Clear side markers

Przednie światła obrysowujące są kolejnym lokalnym wymogiem, którego nie ma w Europie. Nie wiem po co to komu. Ale jak widać mają być, i do tego jeszcze paskudne pomarańczowe. Zadziwiające jest to, że równocześnie boczne migacze są białe (zarówno w Mk4 jak i w Mk5).

Na szczęście jest na to rada w postaci ebay-a i walmarta. Na tym pierwszym kupujemy białe obrysy, a w drugim pomarańczowe żarówki. Nie wiem do końca czy obrysy muszą świecić na pomarańczowo, ale wolałem nie ryzykować.

Po zakupie tych białych obrysów znów upewniłem się w przekonaniu, że chińskie wytwory nie należą do najlepszych gatunkowo. Nie dość, że trochę luźno wchodzą (choć raczej nie wypadną), to jeszcze moje były pobrudzone klejem silikonowym. Szkoda, że VW nie daje białych obrysów (choćby do GTI), bo światła OEM dla VW robi Hella (między innymi), więc jakość jest zdecydowanie lepsza.

Side markers are another local requirement, which is not used in Europe. I have no clue what is the purpose of them. But they are required, and unfortunately they are of an ugly amber colour. To make it more weird, all side turn indicators are white (both in Mk4 and Mk5).

Fortunately there are ebay and walmart. Using the former we can buy clear side markers, while in the latter we can get amber bulbs. I am not sure if we really need amber bulbs, but I do not want to risk.

The available clear side markers are made in China and unfortunately they are not of the highest quality. They are bit too small to fit perfectly, although I doubt they fall out. Also, my pair was stained with a silicone glue. Pity, VW do not have the clear side markers (even in GTI), because OEM lights are made for VW by Hella (among others), and the quality is better.

Wystarczy popchnąć mocno kciukiem przednią część do środka. / It requires some force to push the front part in with the thumb.

Nie wiem czy tu widać, ale te już tak doskonale nie leżą. / I don't know if it can be seen here, but the new ones don't fit as good as original ones.
